Jon 2.9
“…I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay that that I have vowed…”
“If a man is not a Christian in his business
he is not a Christian anywhere.”

Jon 1.9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of Heaven, which hath MADE the Sea and the Dry Land. – God made Heaven, Earth, World # 31
“The sinner’s conscience is the best reflector of the Judgment seat,
in life & in death.”

VICTORY WORTH THE CROSS
A lone walnut chanced to drop upon the sod alone,
Where it seemed to lie and simply rot, quietly, forlorn.
Its form was changed, its symmetry gone.
Its kernel worthless to eat,
What an untimely end thus to met.
Deep inside its little heart new life was beginning,
Oh, for a fresh start (another game – not a new inning).
A root from it ranged, a shoot saw the dawn,
A tree, from apparent loss,
Victory is always worth the cross.

Eph 5.25
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church,
and gave himself for it;”
Many of us stood at altars, thrilled to be getting married. We heard, “Till death do us part” & honestly meant it. But in all honesty, it sounds more serious now than then. We’re closing in on: one of you two, one of us, unless in a crash, etc, will die first. If your mate is a saint (no one knows that like you do!) we “sorrow not even as others which have no hope” (1Th 4.13). It could be selfish to want-to-die-first but to be the mate remaining must be lonely. In spite of coming loneliness, I happily believe the song, God gave me for Phillip/Heather, “Marriage is a wonderful thing” [repeat], “Its foundation stones were Divinely laid…”

“There will not be any holiness in hell;
there will not be any sin in heaven.”
– V O Agan, sermon 5/31/99
There are 1000s of post-Biblical words. Multitudes of these have flowed in from other languages, from technology, & other sources; many are legit & useful. It may be good to remember their newness. On the other side, there are no pre-Biblical expressions, “In the beginning was the WORD…” Joh 1.1.

“We need to see & feel the torments of hell & the glory of heaven;
then we could help our people.”
– – V O Agan, ’55 Conf. Sermon
