Jos 10.12-13a +

Jos 10.12-13a

“…Joshua to the LORD…in the sight of Israel, ‘Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; & …Moon in…Ajalon…& the sun stood still & the moon stayed…’”

“…The deep secret of Saul’s [king] failure was…

he had the power to witness & work, rather than to live & obey.”

– A B Simpson

Joh 1.10 He was in the world, and the World was MADE by him, and the world knew him not.

– God made Heaven, Earth, World # 33

“The Book of God is like a beautiful garden where all the flowers grow upon the same soil

…are watered from the same heaven but each has its own unique colors, forms, fragrance…”

– A B Simpson

AND WHY?

Does it not seem slightly, ah, grossly out of place

To scrape away what God Himself put on your face

And why? To bend to a current social demand.

How will such at God’s great white judgment stand?

– eab, 1/19/09

into

Into His presence with song

In private – away from the throng,

Adoring the One to Whom I belong,

Now and through eternity, endlessly long.

– eab, 1/20/09

Joh 8.11

“…And Jesus said unto her,

‘Neither do I condemn thee: go & sin no more.’”

“If the bars are open, churches should be” (said, regarding icy/snowy weather). Statement may sound good (at first) – think about it. 1.) Bars do not provide family, Churches are family to some (perhaps the most meaningful they have on earth), 2.) Bar owners are not concerned that you making it home safely (how many accidents are after visiting a bar), Churches are. 3.) Bars are interested in one thing – money, if that is the main interest of a Church it should close forever. 4.) Bars are open 6-7 nights a week, will the average Christian attend Church if it was open as often? 5.) I doubt the rightness of making a decision based on what the devil’s crowd is doing.

“Worldliness robs the Church of its purity & Power & places her in a position whereby she cannot proclaim the whole counsel of God”

– V O Agan, ’55 Conf. Sermon

You see a meme & like a few words. Stop, don’t share it yet. Look it over. 1.) Read the rest of the words. Does it use “4-letter” language? Or does it carry a suggestive message? As a follower of Jesus Christ you shouldn’t share memes with bad words/ideas. Now. 2.) Take a second look at that pic. Even if the words would fit in a Sunday School class would you want the female pictured to teach the S.S. lesson? The slick devil is getting bad pic with “good” words or a decent pic with bad words. We should not propagate either. – eab, 1/20/19

“Christians never meet for the last time.”

– V O Agan, sermon, Nov 1994
