Joh 14.15 +

Joh 14.15

“If ye love me,

keep my commandments.”

“Everybody wants to go where they went,

but nobody wants to live the life they lived.” [speaking of saint’s funerals]
– James Plank, sermon, 1/21/19

Why would anyone (you, your mate, your child, anyone) want to be more attached to the World? Sinners who want to wear its signature jewelry, want to identify with it via tattoos, who insist on puncturing their bodies like heathen do, are surely not thinking about how soon such actions may be called into question. The world is a sinking ship – the farther you are from it when it plunges to the bottom, the better.

– eab, 1/20/19

“Show me a home in trouble &

I’ll show you a home where the Holy Spirit is absent.”

– James Plank, sermon, 1/21/19

You can paint your car any color

Preferably one not showing dirt.

Your pickup’s color may reveal

If you should wear pants or a skirt.

Only two colors on tractors

Should ever, ever be seen:

Big, bright yellow wheels and

A body that’s new-grass green.

– eab, 1/23/17

Mat 23.9

“And call no man your father upon the earth:

for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

Followers of Christ are not adherents to *teachings* of the Roman Catholics [RC]. (Note: There’ve been men who attended RC services who were better than its theories – as there’ve been men who attended Christian groups who were worse than its doctrines.) Go back to evangelical & holiness preaching of 50-60 yrs ago & you’ll hear a number of anti-RC statements. Modernity is too ecumenical – few preachers warn. We should avoid pics of RC priests, monks, nuns. We shouldn’t knowingly quote a modern RC writer, or use pics of RC steeples or “crosses”.

– eab, 1/20/19

“If you have Him you have everything;

if you have Him not, you have nothing.”

– T M Anderson, “Great Invitation”

Many are worried about the Big “C” Cancer. It is bad & has taken too many the lives in recent years. But too few are worried about the Big “C” Carnality. It is much worse. It has taken the spiritual lives of most of earth’s population. Carnality is not recent. There may be a cure for cancer but not for death. There IS a cure for carnality & with a holy heart one does not have to fear death.

– eab, 1/17/19

“…You can’t look at God’s promises as if they were some inspiring motto:

you have to present them for payment.”

– T M Anderson, “Great Invitation”
