Rev 2.18

“And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; ‘These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire & his feet are like fine brass’”

“If God were to give you dying grace now it would be a burden to you.

He will give you living grace now & dying grace when you want it.”

– Able Stevens (quoted by)

Act 14.15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living GOD, which MADE Heaven, and Earth, and the Sea, and all things that are therein:

“Sanctification of heart & life was his incessant theme but by promoting personal holiness in the church he was sure to promote the conversion of the ungodly.”

– Able Stevens

Thank God!

Thank you, Lord, for giving

The great, great grace of God.

Thank you, Lord, for living

Among us on sea and sod.

And thank you, Lord, for sieving

Out the sinful, from the merely odd.

1Co 13.4

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not;

charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,”

Whether a decision be judged right or wrong (by my peers) my motive for it *Must* be right in God’s sight. My decision may be considered brilliant or dumb by peers but my attitude is what counts in the Lord’s view. If it were judged brilliant (rare, if ever) I dare not be proud – God helped, early, late or both. If fellow christians access it dumb I need grace to be humble. Decisions can be less important than attitudes.

“…listen with rapt attention to whatever God has to say – like a child would listen to a story. God reveals wonderful things to His children.”

– T M Anderson

Accolades from one who doesn’t know you, are nearly worthless. An exaggerated tribute is of little value. And compliments from one who’s not sincere are not appreciated. Some of us have received a little of one or more of the above. Frankly, I do not need or deserve much if any, praise on earth. There are however a few words which I crave to hear from One who never exaggerates, Who is always sincere, & who knows me like no Other. Those words? “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…(Mat 25.21)
