We’re probably living in the generation of least Bible memorization for centuries. Many a previous saint made it a practice to commit a verse (or verses) of God’s book to memory every-so-often. It was a comfort to them. They leaned upon Its promises. They had Scripture verses on the house walls & on their “heart walls.” How about you, Brother? How about you, Sister? Are you memorizing Scripture?

Let me encourage you to read from both the OT & the NT. The late Bill McChesney (missionary killed in the Congo, 11/25/1964) made it his practice to read the OT through once a year & the NT once a month. That may not be your balance but find a system that the Spirit underscores to your heart & follow it – Religiously! – eab, 1/28/19
