Psa 53.1

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God…”

“There is not a more original lot of people on the face of the earth

than those who are entirely sanctified.”

– H A Baldwin, /Holiness…Human Element/

Don’t be the least fooled when you read “So-n-so (some supposed ‘great scientist’) believes there’s a God.” Duh. This finely tuned heaven, earth, sea (& contents) could only have come from the hand of God. The important question is does this guy believe that God sent His Son to the world to redeem fallen men from sin? If he doesn’t, he’s as lost as the most uneducated heathen.

“Do not be discouraged [that] average men are all…finding fault…

keep your special peculiarity sanctified & go ahead…”

– H A Baldwin, /Holiness…Human Element/

1Pe 4.7

“But the end of all things is at hand:

be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”

Do you pray for your pastor? Remember, he’s as human as you are. He faces temptations which are similar to yours. He has a bill or two to pay. His wife/children get sick or have needs in like manner as yours. He has to keep up his private devotions, just as you do & he needs to seek God’s will for messages from the Lord for you, your family & your fellow church attendees. Please put him high on your prayer list. You may not see a change because of your prayers, but continue & you may see a difference soon.

“This spirit of forgiveness must work easily readily & without effort

no matter what the offense may be nor how often it has been committed.”

– T M Anderson, /After Sanctification/

Do you pray for your pastor’s sermons? You expect him to speak; if you have spiritual depth, you want him to not just talk. (Some pastors like to talk, perhaps too much.) You want your pastor to have a message from God – right? You’d like his sermons to challenge your soul, stimulate your family & give minds something to “chew on.” As a retired pastor, allow me to encourage you to pray for him, not just from form but with tears & groans as the Spirit leads.

is to fail to be godlike & forgive.”
