Act 8.1 +

Act 8.1

“And Saul was consenting unto his death…”

[But soon the murderer was Brother Saul, Act 9.17 ]

“It [sin] pays wages in 3 installments: 1) It kills the conscience, 2) Drys up the fountain of emotion, 3) Breaks the power of resistance.”

– Glenn Griffith /I Sought for a Man/

Have You Killed Someone? God, if you seek His mercy, is able to forgive murder – whether that someone was in the womb, in the war, in domestic violence. Murder is sin but it’s not the unforgivable sin. It’ll keep you from fellowshipping with God & keep you from heaven. See it as it is, & beg Him to forgive. Your forgiveness won’t restore that baby, enemy, or family member but will allow you be a Child of God.

“If men are not stirred to love God,

they will trifle until they love something else.”

– Glenn Griffith /I Sought for a Man/

DON’T TURN THE POST

Now and then I see where prankster

Has turned a corner post;

And “Main” becomes “Franklin,”

And “Franklin” “Main” – almost.

Locals know that “Main” is “Main,”

Not turning where miss-signed,

And the turned-street labels

Make them to humor inclined.

But to the traveler on his journey

From his home to city far,

Doesn’t know the sign is wrong

And his day can fully mar

By the miss-labeled street.

He may turn and travel long,

Only to sadly learn

His miles and hours were wrong.

If the devil can spin the signs,

Call that “Narrow” which is “Broad,”

And call the “Broadway,” “Narrow”

Leading folks away from God.

Then satan may see them die,

Die despairing of Calvary’s cost,

Because they turned the wrong corner

And were forever lost.

Preacher, don’t be a prankster,

Turning the sign on the corner post,

“Winning” people by your humor,

Not preaching with the Holy Ghost.

And Traveler, oft check the map,

It the narrow and broad has told.

Remember, the adage is still true,

“All that glitters is not gold.”

1Co 5.11

“…If any man that is called a brother be a fornicator or covetous or an idolater or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.”

“Birds of a feather flock together” (1st appeared in a 1599 dictionary) is a phrase I’ve known most of life. It’s true for bad boys or good boys. It’s true for men & women. And it’s true for ministers & teachers in the embattled holiness movement. See who a man supports, chums with, calls for a meeting or is called by for a meeting or who he quotes & you’ve another example “birds of a feather flock together.”

“Let God have your life;

He can do more with it than you can.”

– D. L. Moody

Truth has always existed. It never had a beginning – Christ is truth (Joh 14.6) – He has always existed).

Myths, lies or falsehoods were invented & invented for a reason. Look for that reason & avoid them at all costs.

“When the teachings of men conflict with the Word of God,

it would be wise to go with God.”
