Mat 11.15 +

Mat 11.15 & 13.9

“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

“Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

“The people who wrote the Bible & the heroes of faith in the Bible were men & women just like we are…Elijah…was subject to like passions as we are.”

– S D Herron, sermon (uncertain date)

Disciplined children tend to have disciplined parents. Conscientious children tend to have conscientious parents. Hard working children tend to have hard working. Dad, Mom, what you do, & say, the example you set, is not always followed but Johnny & Susie ARE watching.

– eab, 4/7/19

“When we doubt God’s Word,

we doubt the God behind the Word.”

– S D Herron, sermon (uncertain date)

HAVE YE BREATH ?

Horses have their own “neigh”

The bird has her note

From all across wide nature

“Praise” comes from throat after throat.

The plain animals on the planes

The woods critters in forest glen

Lift each his praise to Maker

Over and over and over again

“Let every thing that hath breath

Praise the LORD” was plainly penned

Those swift to run away

Those with hoof/horn to defend

If poor “stock” in yon field

Or creatures of a distant wild

Screech, “cry,” bellow, call

Boisterous or quite mild

YOU ought to Praise, child

Redeemed, though once defiled.

– eab, 4/8/17

Rev 1.3

“Blessed is he that readeth & they that hear the words of this prophecy

& keep those things which are written therein…”

“…No Christian is to enter any further into business nor for any other ends than such as he can in singleness of heart offer to God…Take this away from tradesmen & shops are but so many houses of greediness & filthy lucre…Take this away from our diversions & you will find no sports too silly nor any entertainments to vain & corrupt to be the pleasure of Christians.”

T.C.P. – [“Thinking cap” post]

The devil uses the eyes to lure to sin. “…When the woman saw that the tree was good for food & that it was pleasant to the eyes…”(Gen 3.6). satan emphasizes imagery, vision (television), pictures (still & motion), emphasizes that which appeals to sight, which requires little-to-no critical thinking. Movies & TV are programmed to *steer* you – not *stir* you!!!

God by solemn contrast, uses words. “In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the Word was God”(Joh 1.1). Words can reach through to you via reading or hearing, so that the deaf can read or the illiterate can hear – nice, two-pronged approach to knowledge. A holy heart wants to Hear from God – not to be mesmerized by satan’s sights. – eab, 4/8/19

“…There is nothing that makes us love a man as much

as praying for him…”
