Rev 6.13 +

Rev 6.13

“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs,

when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”

“God shared some secrets with Abraham & Samuel

because they shared the heart of God & the viewpoint of God.”

– S D Herron

Some who have accepted (are accepting) newer “versions” like to feel good about their idea that “they don’t reject the KJV.” This is like they have 2 girlfriends. They kind-a-like the redhead; they like the blond too. Choose you this day which Bible you will read/study. You cannot /equally like/ the Classic KJV & some modern “version” anymore than you can legally marry both the redhead & the blond.

– eab, 3/31/19

“It takes more faith to believe God, more devotion to God,

when He doesn’t answer prayer than when He does.”

– S D Herron, sermon (uncertain date)

JOKING

Prophets of old weren’t known for their jokes;

Jokers were found on the stage.

Pastors and other ministerial folks,

Have changed this in “modern” age.

Elijah was not joking when God’s fire fell,

Consuming fifty-one men.

Nor had he humor confronting the king,

Or other men in deep sin.

– eab, 4/10/07

If you have lots of Greenbacks (man-made currency of earth, produced out of “thin air”) you can climb social ladders, “hobnob” with big name (but hollow-souled) people, & be temporarily important. Hurrah.

If you have lots of grace (God-made “currency” of heaven, “produced” by the death/resurrection of Christ) you can go up to heaven, be brother to Moses, Elijah etc. & be important in God’s sight forever. Hallelujah! “O, Friend, choose wisely, choose wisely.”

– eab, 4/10/19

Rom 12.2

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good & acceptable & perfect, will of God.”

“God never promises a reward for those who give away their money after they are dead & gone. Why should they be rewarded for that which they cannot help doing?”

– Oswald J Smith

How concerned are we with being separate from this world? “Head theology,” which isn’t lived out in daily life, is a horrible thing to place as an example before our youth. When we bring in such to speak, when we publish the writings of such, we’re saying “head” is enough. “Believe right (‘the way we say we believe’) & that’s more important than how you live.” This is not Biblical, is not right, & may land our youth in the same eternal destination as the compromising speaker/writer.

– eab, 4/10/19

“It is when there is no revival that it is difficult to get men to enter the ministry or to go to the mission field…”

– Oswald J Smith
