Psa 122.1 +

Psa 122.1

“I was glad when they said unto me,

Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

“…counties of Antrim & Londonderry…Ireland…common name for the devil…was ‘the sorrow’…he who is miserable himself & whose aim is to make all others so.”

– Adam Clarke, /ChristianTheology/

Where do your children see you the most happy? 1.) At a formal (quiet, hear-a-pin-drop) kind of church? 2.) At a contemporary (“wally-wally, bing-bang”) kind of church?  3.) At a God-worshipping church (whether holy quietness or shouts of rightness)? – – – Or 4.) Someplace other than church?

“A man must consent to sin before he can sin.

God has so constituted the human will that it cannot be forced.”

– Adam Clarke, /ChristianTheology/

My God is the God of the Sacred page

He, ageless, is the Lord of every age

He pre-dates the gods of sports and stage

He’ll out-live all gods of war and rage

His love can make “heaven” of a cage

His grace has no adequate gage

His reward exceeds every earthly wage

He has no equal – my Lord of Sacred page. – eab, 6/21/11

God can take all your wrongs

And give you a right heart

He can “oil up” your whistle

Trade a flower for your thistle

Remove that carnal bristle.

And, Friend – – – that is just the start!

-eab, 6/20/19

“…Everything we have ever heard in a Holiness tent meeting, every…dream & foretaste of heaven…when we got loose & got out in the aisle & got our hands in the air…& felt that God was all around & heaven was not 10 feet away, will that day become a glorious reality!”

– Lawrence B Hicks, “There Must Be…Somewhere”

Pay careful attention to these urges – they are opposites.

Positive: “How can I please Christ more & fellowship deeper with Him?”

Negative: “I don’t think God cares about such /little/ details.”

Pro 18.24

“A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and

there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”

“…God saved & sanctified her boy & called him to preach…been preaching second-blessing holiness as hard as he knew how to preach it.”

– Lawrence B Hicks, “There Must Be…Somewhere”

Can we be friends with people who don’t agree with us? On everything? We better hope so – or we’ll have few (if any) friends.  Many of my friends & I agree on a fairly high percentage of things. A great friend & I disagreed on two important issues: divorce & remarriage & the importance of the KJV. Hot subjects with some, but our friendship survived. Another friend & I disagreed on facial hair yet our friendship remained intact. Give people room to disagree. You don’t have to dot all their “i’s” or cross all their “t’s” to like them. Honor where you do agree, & be gracious where you don’t.
