Nov 23 – Psa 118.29 O give THANKS unto the LORD;
for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
“God is love & there is a sense in which a holy man can be said to be love.
He is like God…in patience, humility, self-control, purity of heart & love.”
– Samuel L Brengle
A ventriloquist performs a type of magic. He supposedly makes the doll on his lap speak, move its head, roll its eyes, etc. Sensible people know the doll is phony but the action/words give the appearance of magic. Christians do not need magic; it is satan’s attempt at the supernatural. Abstaining “…from all appearance of evil”(1Th 5.22) surely includes magic & relatives. A miracle, when God chooses to do one, is real. The devil’s imitation is faked. – 11/20/19
“God wants sanctified men.”

A Grandkid’s Thanks
Thank you God for ten fingers and my running toes,
Thank you for my two big ears and my runny nose.
Thank you for the hair on my head,
And for sentences my eyes have read,
Thanks for the words my tongue just said,
And thank You for my tummy–well fed.
Thank you for the good Mother of mine,
Who does my cloths and supper so fine.
Thank You God for my grand ole dad
Though at times he makes me sad
Spanking (he thinks I’m been bad!)
All other hours he makes me glad.
Thank You God for your Holy Bible,
Because by it our family is able,
To read the promises that are very old,
To hear the story of David so bold,
Be warned to be either hot or cold,
And read of parables which are ten-fold.
And Lord, I’d really be remiss,
(Image my grandchild saying this.)
If I forgot to thank You for
Gram and Gramp (wish they lived next door).
Thanks for cousins, aunts, uncles and more
Thanks for blessings, blessings galore.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ! ! !

“[Its] almost impossible to get Christians to attend a service
where God is the only attraction.”
– A W Tozer
Are you a seeker after truth? As a youth I wasn’t frivolous (IMO), didn’t reject truth but probably wouldn’t have said I was a truth seeker. As I’ve aged (& hopefully matured) truth is more & more appealing. This can sound nigh-unto-noble. Watch that attitude. Because if one truly seeks truth, he may come around a corner & abruptly face a truth with which he is uncomfortable. Then – do we still seek truth? – 11/23/19
Gal 5.25
“If we live in the Spirit,
let us also walk in the Spirit.”
God can be worshipped in a formal church I suppose. I was raised without formality & feel no need of it. Give me a service in which God’s Spirit is sensed in prayer, His presence is welcomed & responded to during the singing of hymns, & He moves with unction upon testimonies & the preached Word. This freedom in the spirit only occurs when His children seek His face before the meeting, obey His leadings during the meeting, & give Him the glory afterward. Oh, that we might have more freedom. – 11/23/19
“What the sunshine is to that flower,
the Lord Jesus is to my soul.”
