“Let not mercy & truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck;

write them upon the table of thine heart:”

“Nothing is more astonishing

than the care & concern of God for his followers.”

– Adam Clarke

There’s saintly pleasure in singing hymns to/about the Lord. Thank God for every work-worn soul of yesteryear who took that stub of an indelible pencil or that sharpened dipped-in-ink goose quill & laid out the poetic lines. Bear in mind they may’ve been scribbled with tears welling & running. The lines you sing in the safety of a sanctuary, may come from dark, the very darkest hours of the pen-man/pen-woman’s life but they are the high, heart renderings of their holy souls. Sing with great appreciation! – 12/3/19

“Reader, is thy backsliding a grief & burden to thee?

Then thou art not far from the Kingdom of God;

Believe on the Lord Jesus & thou shalt be saved.”

– Adam Clarke

WITHIN – WITHOUT

He came nations to bless,

Sin had to go.

Within gives a peaceful rest,

Without a defeated foe.

Around the angels stand,

Pointing above – the eternal land. – eab, Dec  1968

“The Middle Ages featured ‘mystery plays’…in theaters or public squares.

The Reformation replaced theatrics with biblical exposition.”

– John A Bjorlik

May I invite you, before 2020, to see the supreme value of the King James? You may’ve had a college prof you admired who “sold you” on some new translation. Or you may consider yourself trained in Aramaic, Hebrew & Greek & walked away from the 400 yr. power & history of the KJV. Come back, my friend to THE classic English Bible. If you made a bold (& “unwise”) announcement opposing the King James, you may have to retract it. If you didn’t, you probably can simply start reading & enjoying Its richness again. What better time than when commemorating –  “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem…”? 12/3/19

Psa 119.11

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart,

 that I might not sin against thee.”

I’m a little of Clyde D. (dad), a little of Ruth E. (mom), yet totally me. They each were a little of their parents yet totally Clyde, totally Ruth. Only the Almighty could arrange this “2 becoming 1” all the way back to the Garden of Eden yet producing new individuals. We truly have an amazing God – if only in the field we humans call genetics. And – – – He is amazing in any & all other areas. I’m bragging on my Father! – 12/3/19

“…Even Christians turn to psychotherapy rather than to sanctification

as means of dealing with soul problems.”

– Bobgans & Mahan
