Exo 20.14, 15 +

Exo 20.14, 15

“Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

“Thou shalt not steal.”

“Forgive. Why?

So you can live.”

– Carl Eisenhart, 2/11/18

When is the last time you read a book that made you think? (Hopefully you read in the Bible this AM but this is other than God’s Book.) Do you have a marker in a book right now? *Digging a little deeper* When is the last time you were reading a book & stopped, picked up a dictionary – you DO have one close, eh? – learned what that word meant, & resumed reading? * By sad contrast * When is the last time you watched a full length movie (hollywood/disney/alleged “christian”)? – 1/24/20

“…an old-fashioned case of repentance will stop your fighting holiness

& stop your quarreling & make you upright.”

– Bona Fleming

RED SEA

Out of the Towns of Egypt,

Out of the ghettos of Ham,

With oxen and calf, kid and goat

Ewe and stately old ram,

With bundles on back and head

Breadboards and extra garb,

Marched a nation of men

Who’d recently felt a master’s barb.

Mountain to right of them

Rose in its height,

Mountain to left of them

Cut off all side flight,

While the rumble of chariots

Told their sad ear

That old Pharaoh now

Approached from the rear,

And the wide sea before them

(Their only way to pass)

Lay calm and deadly still

Like a giant looking glass.

“The soul & the body are so united that they have each of them power

over one another in their actions.”

– Wm. Law

What’s with the tattoo? Seriously. You sat still while it was inked on. You wasted money paying for it. You took a chance that needles were less than sterile Why? “Well, it’s pretty.” That, friend, may be your opinion – it is not mine. “My tattoo shows with whom I identify, my ball team, my country, my astrological ‘sign,’ my…” you-name-it. Tattoos may be setting the stage for the mark of the beast. – 1/24/20

1Ti 2.9

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness

& sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

If your husband is pastor, you’re probably the most influential woman in the church. Some men, many women who are 10 yrs younger than you, & nearly every woman your age & older are watching you. From “She’s wearing her skirts shorter this winter” to “I love (or totally dislike) her new hair do,” to “Did you hear what she said about her?” As a pastor’s wife, how I hope you’re faithful to your man & faithful to your prayer closet. (You don’t have one? Oh, create one today.) – 1/24/20

for one leaf of St. James Epistle in English.”

– Gilchrist Lawson
