Num 6.24-25 +

Num 6.24 – 26

“The LORD bless thee & keep thee:

“The LORD make his face shine upon thee & be gracious unto thee:

“The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee & give thee peace.

There is sin in our midst. It’s in the Ten Commandments. It’s in the NT. Name? Adultery. Few evangelical /holiness pastors preach to Mafia dons. But many congregations have men with two living wives & some of those men sit on official boards. We should preach against the sins of gangsters; they need to be redeemed. AND – we should preach against adultery. Please re-read Mar 10.9&11 & note the relation between “married” & “adultery.” Some preachers are failing to address the sins they need to. Amen? Ouch? – 2/2/20

“…The greater the humility, the greater the boldness, if mixed with faith.”

– Samuel L Brengle

RELY

Rely on yourself-

You’ll fail now, & later.

Rely on God everyday –

Eternity couldn’t be better!

My days were spent, as far as I could get time, in searching the Scriptures.

I read nothing else all that winter but my Bible…”

– C G Finney

Your cell phone is a distraction. You shouldn’t be so engrossed in messages, worse yet games, that you’re unaware of who’s moved up next to you, who may be taking a pic of you, who may be stealing your bag or getting ready to abduct you. Be aware of your surroundings. If you must use phones in public look up often & pause in conversation to assess what’s going on about you. “You’re too mistrustful Bryan.” After you’ve searched for your child an hour & have no leads where they are, you might not say that. – 2/2/20

1Pe 2.17

“Honor all men. Love the brotherhood.

Fear God. Honor the king.”

“A showy eloquence may take the place of the Spirit of power. We may go more after full pews

than redeemed souls; more for a big church roll than for having their names written in heaven…”

– John H Jowett

Visiting? You know your parents don’t approve of women in miniskirts, pants, or shorts yet you (or your-at-home-daughter) arrived in such “get-up.” Why? Maybe you don’t agree with their view of lady modesty. Maybe you’re “modern religion” has (in your opinion) outgrown Biblical teachings. But can you not, for a visit, respect how you were raised & respect your parents? (Someday they’ll be gone & you may wish you’d done better.) Your dad & mom may never say this but – maybe I can say it for them. – 2/4/20

“…It is your part to be peace-makers & tender to all,

but to addict yourselves to no party.”

– J Wesley
