NUM 20.10 +

Num 20.10

“…Hear now, ye rebels;

must we fetch you water out of this rock?”

“God is looking for somebody

that’s looking for God.”

– Glenn Griffith [1 of God’s best 19th cent. men.]

If you’re professing to be sanctified but are having carnal anger outbursts, are full of pride, are jealous, stop. Stop professing until you allow God to remove the “old” man(woman) out of your life. You’re hurting the cause of Holiness. There is a real life of purity. Seek God. Die out to yourself. Believe His promise. When He truly sanctifies you start professing it & walk carefully with Him all your days. – 2/4/20

“God gave them the victory

but they had to fight the battle.”

– Charlie               Haire

UPON TURNING FIFTY

Mile stones used to stand near my home,

Numbered on a flat-faced side. [1]

They told travelers how far they had come,

Or, if close to the end of their ride,

And the mile stones never lied.

February marks my own miles,

Marks the years of life since birth,

Fantastic memories fill bulging files,

Mind pictures spectrum, from tears to mirth,

Thank God for my years on earth.

“…As great as the power of the world is it is built on a blind obedience

& we need only to open our eyes to get rid of its power.”

– Wm Law

Evangelical/holiness pulpits have probably never had more “educated” men. Educated where? “In our Bible colleges & center-to-right seminaries – We’re good.” I’m not sure about that. To have taken a class it not necessarily the same as grasping the subject. To hold an honorary degree sounds better than it is. To graduate should be to commence: commence to study (now not to get a grade but to imprint truth on the soul). Commence to pray. Praying yourself out of some ideals which are not Biblical, into others that are. Men, Please do not rely on your schooling but use it as a tool for God. 2/5/20

Psa 100.4

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving & into his courts with praise:

be thankful unto him & bless his name.”

Do you recall entering church with silence? Going quietly to pew & kneeling, imploring God to come today – telling Him how much you need Him? If you didn’t kneel (old age, injury, not enough space) you bowed your head & just as sincerely asked Him to come. When you stopped praying, you did NOT talk to Mrs “X” nor turn around to gossip with Mr “Y.” You remembered you were in GOD’S House. Gardening can wait till after we hear from heaven. So-n-So’s baby can be discussed after dismissal. We’ve lost our reverence for God, partly because we’ve lost our reverence for His House. Amen? Ouch? 2/5/20

“…No Christian is to enter any further into business nor for any other ends than such as he can in singleness of heart offer to God…Take this away from tradesmen & shops are but so many houses of greediness & filthy lucre…Take this away from our diversions & you will find no sports too silly nor any entertainments to vain & corrupt to be the pleasure of Christians.”

– Wm Law
