Deu 18.13
“Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.”
Pardon me – are you proud? Of what are you proud? Your looks? They will fade. Your hair? It will turn gray or turn loose. Your position? Someone else will hold it soon. Your house? It can be destroyed by fire/flood. Your education? Your mind can begin to shrink. Your marriage? Your mate can die (or worse divorce). Please ask God to remove your pride. He can & He wants to. – 2/12/20
“The gold-miner washes the dirt off his ore, but he cannot wash the dross out of it.
The fire must do that & then the gold will be pure.”
– Samuel L Brengle
- LINCOLN
A Lincoln was born to the Lincoln clan.
- Lincoln became a very great man.
- Lincoln was son of Tom and Nancy.
- Lincoln was right but seldom fancy.
“A. Lincoln,” is how his signature ran.

“…The first thing the Holy Ghost does when He come into the heart in all His fullness – He glorifies Jesus; we see Jesus as we never saw Him before; we love Him; we adore Him; we ascribe all honor, & all glory, & all power unto Him…”
– Samuel L Brengle
Once Saved always saved? Does that work in an every-day-world?
Once Beautiful, always beautiful? Once a Dad, always a dad?
Once Famous, always famous? Once Handsome, always handsome?
Once in Love, always in love? Once Married, always married?
Once President, always president? Once Rich, always rich?
Once Well, always well? Once Young, always young? HUM?
Doesn’t seem to work in real life; Stop excepting this false doctrine. – 2/12/20
2Ti 4.5
“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work
of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
“The greatest idea that we can frame of God is when we conceive of him
to be a Being of infinite love and goodness…”
– Wm Law
A LONGer Post. You have a Biblical church. Thank God. Bear in mind no church is static – it’s moving toward being a better House of Worship or its sliding away from where it was. As a dad, you need to listen. As a S.S. teacher or S.S. superintendent, you need to pay attention. As a member of the official board, you need to be aware. Without being carnal, without having a sharply critical attitude, ask yourself which direction is your church headed? Is the pastor preaching a more clear message or has he gotten fuzzy? Is the youth leader deepening or has he lightened up? The last evangelist – a man perhaps you didn’t know – did he preach about the holiness of God or not. Pray for your Meeting House but also be man enough to raise the right questions, at the right time. God bless your efforts. – 2/12/20
“…There is nothing that makes us love a man
as much as praying for him…”
