Rom 5.8 +

Rom 5.8

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,

while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

“Holiness in man is the same in kind as holiness in God.”

– William Jones, MD

“Resurrection” occurs first in Mat 22.23 (It is a NT word). It occurs last in Rev 20.6 & in between there are 38 vv (total of 40) with this wonderful – for the saint – word, Resurrection. “Up from the grave He arose…” (Robt. Lowry) & up from their graves on mountainsides, atop small knolls, & yes, even from the seas, saints will someday Arise. Oh, glorious hope of the redeemed. Friend, be ready to die! This world should be looking less attractive as the days pass; and – – – Heaven looking more attractive. Amen? – 4/12/20

“A church without God in it is simply a corpse.”

– Martin Wells Knapp

ONE SMALL THING

The wart on the nose may change the pose

From bride to forgotten friend.

A night of “fun” ending with the sun

Could land you in the pen.

One careless match on dry thatch

Will turn the whole place to chars.

It is a fact, the small thought or act,

May spell destinies beyond the stars.

– eab  Apr. 1975

I like eggs. God made chickens to lay white & brown ones, blue & greenish ones – give me God’s “colored” eggs not man’s. I like stuffed eggs (don’t call them “deviled eggs” they’re too good to allow him credit). I like rabbits, when they are away from my garden. I like fried rabbit. But The GLORIOUS RESURRECTION of my Lord has nothing, hear it, Nothing-to-do with either eggs or rabbits. Hopefully you have not mixed them. If you have, you need to pray, research history, & think before you corrupt Christ’s Resurrection another year. Do Not Write This Off As “Innocent.” – 4/12/20

“When you get into a soul-conflict, do not publish your distress to all your friends but fight manfully in God’s name; but when you possess the joy of Christ & the love of the Spirit & grace is abundant in your soul, then tell the news to all around.”

– C. Spurgeon

Joh 11.25

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection & the life:

he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”

“…What is sweeter than honey? What is more joyful than the joy of a saint?

What is more happy than the happiness of a believer?”

– C. Spurgeon

Jesus Christ was alive. Jesus Christ was dead. Jesus Christ IS alive again and – – – lives forevermore. He not only had a Resurrection; He IS the Resurrection (Joh 11.25). Away with all talk of easter. “Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven…That name, as found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar.” [Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons (NJ: Loizeaux Brothers, 1959),103.] Celebrate “Resurrection Morning,” not easter. – 4/12/20
