Eph 4.11 +

Eph 4.11

“And he gave some, apostles; & some, prophets;

& some, evangelists; & some, pastors & teachers;”

“…I plead for the most precious liberty in the world, heart liberty,

for liberty from the most galling of all yokes, the yoke of heart corruption.”

– John Fletcher

Returned Monday from 3 days with the Dickinsons. Had nice meal at White Star Restaurant & before we left town I found an address & told family about it. I first heard of Peebles about 1954-55. Bro & Sis Howard Williams lived at 84 Walnut St. & I enjoyed seeing the house Friday. On Saturday the Dickinson children & I picked poke, brought home a good amount, & it was cooked – like spinach only better (IMO) & served with the Vandalia onion pies Heather made. Phillip had asked me (on Friday) to have devotional thoughts for Saturday & I enjoyed sharing in their family altar – among other things, how to remember the ch. where Abraham “sacrificed” Isaac. On the Lord’s Day we drove two cars to Christian Nation Church & back. God helped Phillip to preach & point out well, the importance of living right for the generational benefits to the Kingdom. Good Lord’s Day dinner of potato salad, ham, baked beans, cottage cheese. Said “good byes” about noon on Monday. Thank you for the invite (Father’s Day) & nice time. – 6/23/20

“…Perfect butterfly…three wks ago it was a perfect aurelia, quietly sleeping in it’s silken tomb.

Some months before it was a perfect silk worm busily preparing…”

– John Fletcher

Three short, May thoughts:

  1. What would make you WANT to kill someone? Know the answer? Carnality. 5/24/20
  2. Immaturity is a sign of sinners, childish sinners. A young saint has adultness satan can’t imitate. 5/26/20
  3. What you can never do – that is what you AND God together, can do (in His will). 5/28/20

Failure and Faithful began the same,

The ending is where the difference came.

Three short, early June thoughts:

  1. We carry tangible things with our hands – we carry the intangible on our hearts. 6/2/20
  2. On our death beds not one of us will say, “I wish I hadn’t prayed so much.” 6/4/20
  3. Give God 1/10th of your income. Give Him 1/7th of your week. Give Him 100/100th of your life. 6/7/20

“Take time to be holy

– you have to make time today.”

– Dempsy Fossit

Rev 21.8

“…The fearful & unbelieving & the abominable & murderers & whoremongers & sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire & brimstone…”

Please daily read the Good Book – I can’t urge you too much to do so. “What should I read next?” Read histories – older printings & from a variety of writers & cultures. (Don’t trust reading a book on line; it may’ve been changed.) Read with a highlighter (own books so you can mark in them & refer back to them later). Read with BOTH eyes open. Create your own indexes with a pen/pencil on the blank pages. Corrupt men, trying to gain a name/fame, often repeat similar atrocious lies, murderers, & revolutions. Don’t be deceived as *their* followers were. – 6/24/20

than his desire for holiness.”
