Job 19.25 +

Job 19.25

“For I know that my redeemer liveth &

that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:”

“Writing makes an exact man.”

– Francis Bacon  [So men, write. – eab]

Don’t let satan weaken your Faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please him [God]…”(Heb 11.6). We are saved by Faith. We are sanctified by Faith. And – – – Brothers/Sisters, we walk, daily, by Faith. Keep reading your Bible & keep Believing It. Keep applying the Word to your life: Business life, Educational life, Married life, & Personal life. Keep the Faith & keep it active. – 11/1/20

“The simplest way to live more than an average life

is to add an hour to the fresh end of the day.”

– Bruce Barton

Pastor (or head deacon/board chairman), walk into your empty sanctuary & really LOOK at it. Have a seat on the back row. Try to see it as a first-time visitor. Is the wall behind the preacher cluttered? Is the area between altar & pulpit too “busy”? Are there items on the pulpit itself which need to go? What “junk” has accumulated on pews/chairs facing the congregation? Is the top of the piano/organ filled with useless items? (If it’ll help clean up the church front, pretend you read this in a church leadership book.) – 11/1/20

Though the “quill” has run across so many lines,

One closes, knowing he did not fully profess,

All thoughts that flowed, faster than pen could flow;

The pen a freight train – the mind, a midnight “express.”

You’re memorizing verses of the Bible, I hope. Are you memorizing their reference (so you know where to find them next time)? Be looking for keys, little “tricks.” Yes, even pray about helps to memorizing. Some of you know the words “Go to the ant, thou sluggard, consider her ways & be *wise*” but, do you know where to find them? Would you believe they’re in proverbs (written by the *wise* man)? What chapter? How many legs does an ant have? 6. “Go to the ant…” in Pro 6.6. – 11/1/20

“It [holiness] is not a completed experience but admits of unending growth.

It…places us in a condition where the obstructions to growth are removed.”

– J M Pike

Mat 6.10

“Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

Are you part of Christ’s Kingdom? Have you noticed, as you read the New Testament, how often It refers to His Kingdom? Matthew uses “kingdom of heaven” 32 times (he also uses “kingdom of God” 5 times). “Kingdom of God” is used by Mar(15) Luk(32) Joh(2) Act(7) Rom(1) 1Co(4) Gal(1) Col(1) 2Th(1). In addition to K.of heaven & K.of God there is “the kingdom of their Father”(Mat 13.43), “the kingdom of Christ & of God”(Eph 5.5), the kingdom of his dear Son”(Col 1.13), “the everlasting kingdom of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ”(2Pe 1.11), and “the kingdom of our God”(Rev 12.10). Considering these many references, our pulpits have been TOO silent about Christ’s Kingdom. Amen? – 11/1/20

“Anything less than the Book of Acts

is a church in need of revival.”

– James Plank,  2/3/00
