Job 23.3 +

Job 23.3

“Oh that I knew where I might find him!

that I might come even to his seat!”

“There are times when nothing a man can say

is nearly so powerful as saying nothing.”

– Bruce Barton

Please, Friend, do not mistake some warm fuzzy-feeling while the “praise team” is strumn’ & drumn’ for the pure & blessed Holy Spirit. Sadly, but not surprisingly, satan has a substitute for the Holy Ghost. satan will fool you if you let him. In stead, seek God in the quiet of your home, woods or barn. Be blessed in your quiet time with God. – 11/2/20

“Every man is called separately

& must follow alone.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer

One of the most dangerous places to be is where you know the language of holiness but not the purity & power thereof. When you know when to raise your hand & how to look/sound “spiritual” but God has not witnessed to your soul in weeks (months?) that all is right. STOP faking it. START living it. You can – – – if you’ll back up, admit your shallowness (hypocrisy?) & become a humble follower of the Lamb. – 11/2/20

Of all the colors – in total, nine,

Orange is not a favorite of mine.

Until, now, when its turns fully fall.

Then, it is a bright choice, after all.

When your old high sch./college friends move to the left you’ll have to decide if you want them to be close friends or Christ to be your Closest Friend. (Same is true with business peers & even those with whom you attend church.) Is the position they now hold & defend Biblical? Make sure you have an excellent attitude but do NOT “go with the flow.” Easy? Not necessarily. Some may depend on your personality, but more depends on the depth of love for Jesus & the Bible. “…Whosoever shall be ashamed of me & of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed when he shall come…”Luk 9.26. – 11/3/20

“Is it less than blasphemy to sing songs on Sunday such as ‘All that thrills my soul is Jesus’ but spend hours a week at ball parks or before a TV trying to “get a kick” out of life?”

– Leonard Ravenhill

Joh 12.48

“He that rejecteth me & receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him

the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

In my days of knocking on doors as pastor, I’d occasionally see/hear a dog that liked to bark. I’ve said to more than one “You like your own voice don’t you?” Occasionally I hear a preacher who seems to like “his voice.” When listening to a candidate for pastor, not only hear his sermon (“sugar stick”) in your pulpit but how much did he talk before the song service, between the specials, before (or after) the prayer time? Does he like to talk? Get 3-4 tapes/CDs of entire services from where he’s been preaching. Does he like to talk? Better to have a man of fewer, deeper words than a man is too talkative. – 11/3/20

“Feed them [Christians] on chaff of stale jokes & old last-year’s Bible readings

that have lost their power in your own heart & you will starve the sheep.”

– Samuel L Brengle
