Psa 100.1

“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.”

“Am I holy…when I trade when I mingle in debate & strife

when I am chided & maligned when I am off my guard…?”

– R S Foster

No one can stop you from praying. No one. Heaven forbid that you be in house arrest – you can pray. Worse that you be confined to a cell – you can pray. Even if such a day arrived that you were restricted from speaking aloud – God has so arranged our mind & spirit that we can pray without moving our lips, without making one earthly noise but God can hear us Perfectly. Praying IS the most important thing you can do & satan nor his henchmen can stop us. Isn’t that wonderful? – 1/5/2021

“They do not receive reproach with gentleness; no nor even reproof. Nay they are not able to bear contradiction without the appearance at least of resentment. If they are reproved or contradicted though mildly they do not take it well; they behave with more distance & reserve than they did before.”

– R S Foster

MANSION?   I hope it’s not too big a disappointment to you – – – the word “mansion” is not in the Bible. Christ’s “…I go to prepare a place…”(Joh 14.2) seems to have been leveraged-up by song writer(s) & preacher(s). The place He’s prepared for you will (IMO) suit you “to-a-T” (& likewise, what He’s prepared for me will be 100% to my liking). The One who loved us enough to *clean us up* surely knows how to *fix us up* with JUST the right “place.” But the word “mansion” is an example of how easy it is for us to read-into-Scripture what’s not there. Let us be careful. Amen?  Ouch? – 1/5/2021

BEYOND Beginning

The shepherds have returned

To wooly flocks on the hill

The inn keeper now wishes

He could his small inn fill

Mary, post-delivery

Is not longer pregnant, ill.

The world’s most famous morning now is past.

The wise men have returned

To their studies in the East

Herod has completed his

Contemplated blood “feast”

Joseph, Family in Egypt

Are “visitors” at least.

Jesus is a growing “toddler” at last.

And you, friend, have returned

To living glad, or forlorn

Returned to shops and streets

Filled with scurry and loud horn

Remember, remember

Christ for you was gladly born.

Hold to His redeeming love, hold it fast!

Who’s going to win? Too many youth (in school & out/male & female) have been concerned about “who’s going to win.” Too many not-so-young men/women have been worried about “who’s going to win.” Writers (on paper/on electronic media) have played “prophet” trying to predict outcomes. Even souls professing to trust Christ have succumbed too easily to ungodly “worry.” I encourage you to Pray & Trust. “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes”(Psa 118.9). – 1/5/2021

“satan is not expecting to win against God.”

Luk 10.2

“…Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,

that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.”

As Gramp to ten, fine lady-granddaughters I could wish that each of those unmarried would be found by their own, dream man. Having said that (meaning every word of it) I’ll add that one or more of these ladies might be called of God (whether they marry or not) to become a Lady of Prayer. I hope they all will love Him & love Him to the exclusion of loving the fleeting world but I speak of a special niche, a high calling, a lady who sees the world as nearly worthless but sees souls as priceless & makes it a life-work to pray for their salvation next door or on the next continent. – 1/5/21

“It is not enough to tell the truth,

it must be told in love & in faith.” – G R “Bob” French
