You can “take a stand” (even look half-way “heroic”) but take it on a minor, even moot point. God needs pastors & evangelists who KNOW where they stand on major points, who KNOW why they stand there & who WILL BE STANDING there when all burns around them. You’ll be remembered at your funeral/memorial service. I speak not necessarily of eulogies. What will siblings recall (good or ill) about you? A child? A grandchild? And you’ll come to this one’s mind or that, in the next months after your death. For what will you be remembered? Your humor? Your pessimism? A love for animals? God wants a CURRENT relationship with you. When’s the last time you slipped into His presence in sweet communion? Story was told of a man & wife in earlier days (old cars held three persons in the front seat) riding down the road. She looked over from the far passenger side & said, “We didn’t use to ride like this.” He responded from behind the steering wheel, “I haven’t moved.” Friend, if you & God are not as close as you used to be, allow a reminder GOD HAS NOT MOVED. Every woman was born a virgin. And every woman who is not one now (& whose mind is clear) knows exactly when she purposely gave away this wonderful God-given gift – on her Wedding Night or – – – sadly if she threw this precious gift away in sinful madness, failing to understand its great moral value. Dad/Mom, it’s your responsibility (above any other human) to emphasis to your daughter HOW important her virginity is. Once *trashed away it’s gone for life.
