Do not judge a church by its numerical count (big attendance or small).
Do not judge a church by the autos in the parking lot (new & expensive or cheap).
And do not judge a church entirely by the pastor’s “degree” (high sounding or no degree).
Do they have a prayer mtg that is alive? Does it happen often? Is the pray mtg for “show” or are souls actually under a burden for the lost? A good gauge of a church is its sincere praying. – 8/13/22

DAD’S “DOLLAR”

WOODSTOVE 3. “OK Bryan, but where would I get enough wood?” Open your eyes. Wood is there. Once you have a stove let neighbors know you’ll pull their dead limbs (which fall every Fall) away for them. Build a high “sawhorse” upon which to cut small branches. If you’re comfortable using an electric circular saw, do, if not, I highly recommend Corona Razor Tooth Saw:18” blade & Fiskars 32” geared loppers (used for yrs). Have a painter save 5 gal buckets, for carrying/storing sawn “sticks.” – 8/13/22

CRITTER ALERT. Just returned with our ’21 Forester (still under “bumper to bumper” warranty) after placing $452.07 on credit card. When a critter (squirrel/chipmunk) destroys a part of a car that is NOT under warranty! Be warned. My asking/searching suggests they don’t like some smells: mint, eucalyptus etc. I’ve lodged a few mothballs under my car’s hood. If you have better suggestions please post them.

O my drifting friends (some old/older than me/many younger) Please, PLEASE stop flirting with the world. With some it’s dress. With some it’s entertainment. With some it’s lesser “bibles.” With some it’s sliding into rituals. BUT with all it’s a lack of serious (I fear) about DEATH. If you knew that 1 week from now your body would be at a funeral home you’d *hopefully drop all ways of the Worldly church – yes even that one that has the name that its Alive but it has no Fire.
