HAVE YOU MET JESUS? You can know a man’s name, know it well; have heard him speak, have read his book but not know him. This is especially true about Jesus. His name is widely known in western cultures. You may have attended church & heard Him “speak” to you (or felt He spoke to you in the woods) & hopefully you have read some of His Book. None of these will save you. You, Friend must MEET Jesus. There’s wonderful news – He wants to meet you. Stop running from Him. – 10/25/22

PRAYER CLOSET – #2 WHY? “Why” is important enough to have a separate post. Can God work without your prayers? Of course. He was working in the OT, in the NT, working in the reformation. Why does He invite us to “Pray ye…the Lord of the harvest that he would send forth laborers into his harvest”(Luk 10.2)?  A.) God wants others to be saved.  B.) God is allowing insignificant-you & not-worth-mentioning me to PARTNER with Him. Oh, how very magnanimous of God! – 10/26/22

FALSE #2 What are signs of a False minister? 1.) A False preacher is not True to the Bible about sin.  Christ said “Go and sin NO MORE”(Joh 8.11, emphasis-eab). 2.) A False pastor isn’t True to the Bible about holiness (Please review the Fruit of the Spirit, Gal 5.22-23a). 3.) A False preacher is not True to the Bible on worldliness (often worldliness shows up in his wife’s appearance & his at-home-children. 

4.) And sadly too many times the False is not even True to his wife. Watch for signs. – 10/26/22

Q.“What is the chief end of man?” A.“Man’s chief end is to glorify God & to enjoy Him forever.” eab is not fond of catechisms but I find these lines (Westminster Catechism) worth knowing & contemplating. Sinners don’t glorify God – ask God to convert you from a sinner to a saint. Carnal Christians don’t glorify God as fully as those with the old-man eradicated – seek Him for a holy heart. Does your buying/selling, Your playing/watching sports, Your selfishness, Glorify God? You know the answer. – 10/28/22

YOU HOME SCHOOL? #3 Looking for a special project? Maybe a “semi-independent study” for an older child in geography? There are several I could suggest: 1.) An in-depth study of an entire continent. 2.) A study of the islands of the world – this is much bigger than it may sound – A.] Largest 25 or  B.] Islands which are countries (in & of themselves) or  C.] Islands belonging to one continent or  D.] Islands owned by one country (Chile, for example, has 5919 islands – 2324 inhabited). – 10/24/22

PRAYER CLOSET – *WHO to pray for? Friends & yes, enemies. *WHAT should be paramount in prayer? The Harvest of Souls (Luk 10.2) (Please do not pray for the health of some non-essential animal/plant.) *WHERE should you pray? If at all possible, pray Alone – a secret closet is a wonderful place to be one on ONE with the Creator. (Do we begin to grasp how GREAT this is?) *WHEN should you pray? First thing in the day (or middle of night) – an hour when you’re rested & not pressed for time. – 10/25/22

Dad, Mom, Grandparent – what are you thinking? If you stand by & smile as your daughter (granddaughter) gets paint put on her check or forehead, what are you going to say if next yr she wants to make her check more “rosy” (“powder” we used to all it – an imitation of “blushing”) or her lips more red? Stop this Worldly painting of faces, Please. And No, neither son nor daughter should look like a dog or cat. Humans are God’s Crowning Creation. Please do not lower that child. THINK. – 10/26/22

Gen 1.27

God made Adam. He made him an individual & arranged that he & Eve produce other individuals. The world’s been populated by a man & wife having individuals (with an occasional multiple-birth). Men (often, less-than-saints) force other men into armies, coax them into working groups, encourage them into teams. Men are thus de-personalized “Do it for the team.” They frequently do this for the “benefit” of king, company, college. GOD, by contrast, made individuality. Fight.  To.  Keep.  It! – 10/27/22
