Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find, to meet my trials here;

Karolina Wilhelmina Sandell –Berg aka Lina Berg was born this date, 10/3/1832, Fröderyd, Småland, Sweden where her father, Jonas Sandell, pastored the Lutheran church. She was known as the “Fanny Crosby of Sweden” writing some 650 hymns among which “Day By Day” remains one of the best known. She willingly shared the credit for her hymns’ popularity, giving a nod to Oscar Arnfelt to whose music some were sung. In 1867 she married C. O. Berg a Stockholm businessman. Lina Sandell –Berg died 7/27/1903, at Stockholm, Sweden.
