Love divine, so great and wondrous,
Deep and mighty, pure, sublime!
Coming from the heart of Jesus,
Just the same through tests of time.

Refrain

He the pearly gates will open,
So that I may enter in;
For He purchased my redemption
And forgave me all my sin.

2. Like a dove when hunted, frightened,
As a wounded fawn was I;
Brokenhearted, yet He healed me,
He will heed the sinner’s cry.

3. Love divine, so great and wondrous,
All my sins He then forgave!
I will sing His praise forever,
For His blood, His power to save.

4. In life’s eventide, at twilight,
At His door I’ll knock and wait;
By the precious love of Jesus
I shall enter Heaven’s gate.

Does…unanswered prayer shake my faith in God’s willingness and power to answer prayer?  No, no!  My own child might just as reasonably decide to never again come to me with a request because I have, in my superior wisdom, denied a petition.

We found that these people – the whole village – were Mohammedans, and had taken no part in the attack.

I quietly but definitely accepted Christ as my Saviour from the power of sin as I had so long before accepted him as my Saviour fom the penalty of sin.

It is more important that you trust the Rock of Ages than that you know the age of the rocks.

No mental processes can stop the mad race for money.  Man must be born again.

Evil forces do not hurt for men to do their bidding.  Today is the day (5/5/1925) that a young high school biology teacher, John Scopes, was arrested for teaching the “theory of evolution” in Dayton, Tennessee.

William Jennings Bryan, a Christian rightly defended the Bible and right in the “Scopes Monkey Trial.”  Mr. Bryan, three times contender (Democrat) for the presidency of the US, died shortly after this historic trial.

Beulah Land

I’ve reached the land of corn and wine,
And all its riches freely mine;
Here shines undimmed one blissful day,
For all my night has passed away.

Refrain

O Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land,
As on thy highest mount I stand,
I look away across the sea,
Where mansions are prepared for me,
And view the shining glory shore,
My Heav’n, my home forever more!

2.

My Savior comes and walks with me,
And sweet communion here have we;
He gently leads me by His hand,
For this is Heaven’s border land.

3.

A sweet perfume upon the breeze,
Is borne from ever vernal trees,
And flow’rs, that never fading grow
Where streams of life forever flow.

4.

The zephyrs seem to float to me,
Sweet sounds to Heaven’s melody,
As angels with the white robed throng
Join in the sweet redemption song.
