“Abstain from all appearance of evil.”

My personal stance – If I don’t click “like” on a pic you think I should, it may A.) have a word(s) I don’t use, B.) show too much “skin,” C.) be at an amusement park/place of entertainment I never attend, D.) have political overtones wrong for me, E.) etc. The lack of “support” is not against you – it is some pic content with which I wish to not be associated.

“Going on unto perfection is the only safeguard against backsliding.”

– Wm McDonald, /Double Cure/

The Classic King James Version (KJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV) was in use in the English speaking world centuries before 2018. If God allows the world to stand another century It will be a Standard Bearer of truth during that time. If you are not acquainted with Its power, Its cadence, Its Classic lines, memorized by millions of people, I encourage you to introduce yourself to It. It’s waiting for you.

TWO SHORES

When quite young I was delighted to be

Three years by the salt, the salty old sea.

I’ve seen it calm, as “calm as a tea cup”

And I’ve seen it white capped, frothing way up.

It had its own creatures living on shore;

Some walked on eight legs, some had only four

Their colors and shapes, their flight, song, or cry

Where clear signs that a salt sea was nearby.

Now, I’m nearing a vastly different sea

Beyond whose shore, by His grace, I will be

Forever with Maker of both huge mains,

United with “earth’s” body – the “remains.”

This shore also has Creatures which delight

Winged Ones, some with six (only two for flight)

Yet unseen, what’s beyond pure Heaven’s shore,

Thrills all saints – – – with the Lord, forevermore.

Mat 25.35a – 36

“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat…I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Do you have an uncle/aunt or great uncle/great aunt in a nursing home? Maybe another relative? How often do you visit them? You don’t remember the last time? If their mind’s good they might be able to tell you. Mother’s/Father’s Day or some distant date. Allow me to encourage you to go by more regularly. You don’t have to stay long. If they’re allowed sweets take a little, take a Sunday School paper. Listen to them chatter, ask leading questions, “When was that?” “Where did you live then?” Always pray for them as you leave. “…I was sick & ye visited me…” (Mat 25.36).

“Their delight in the Law is a delight in having touched firmness; like a pedestrian’s delight in feeling the hard road beneath his feet after a false short cut has long entangled him in muddy fields.”

– C S Lewis, /Reflections on the Psalms/
