“For Christ and Church.”
Harvard University was started on this date, 10/28/1636 at Cambridge, Massachusetts. Harvard was the first college in America. Nine of the first ten colleges started in America were for the training of ministers – it was one of those nine. An early motto was CHRISTO ET ECCLESIAE – “For Christ and Church.”
Oh, that Harvard and all the halls of higher learning were truly for Christ!
