Elton Menno Roth was born 11/27/1891 at Berne, IN.  He attended the Fort Wayne Bible School and later Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  He worked with traveling evangelist tours and was a music teacher at the Alliance Bible Colleges in St. Paul, Minnesota, and New York, the Bible Institute, Los Angeles, California; and Baptist Theological College & City College of Los Angeles. His Ecclesia Choir toured throughout America in 1931.  Elton Roth died 12/31/1951 at Glendale, CA.

Personal – a former roommate, Paul Zehr, was a distant cousin to Roth. 

He wrote over 100 hymns and a number of anthems but is remembered today as the author of “In My Heart There Rings a Melody” (1924).
