Eph 4.15

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things,

which is the head, even Christ:”

YOUNG MINISTER – Young (former eab students & others) – I urge you to move beyond “young” to a Paul-like maturity (“…when I became a man I put away childish [permit ‘youthful’ to be inserted] things” (1Co 13.11). Allow sports to fade, fun/games to attract less, stop “trying to be funny” – all marks of youth. Ask God for holy maturity, that combined with young strength, could make you a power for holiness.

– eab, 4/2/18

“The convictions that really count are not the convictions you hold,

[but] the convictions that hold you.”

– S D Herron

YOUNG MINISTER – Minister – Holiness churches need you to mature. We need you to mature in reading material. We need you to become aware of the huge field of prayer. We need you to create (with the Holy Spirit’s help) sermons to feed audiences twice your age. We need you to see the world as it is – declining to oblivion & once seen share this in your pulpit. Please put a fresh importance in the word “Minister.”

Two brothers were told what to do;

One said “yes” but never “came through.”

The other said “no”

But later did go.

Actions tell a lot about you! [ Mat 21.28]

N T Saul

Damascus, that’s where he’d go!

Little did that Pharisee know

He’d soon drop his sword,

And follow the true Lord,

Tho he found you “reap what you sow.” Act 9.2

Mat 11.28

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest.”

Friend, if you want to keep your mind off of “death, sod & God”* satan (& his greedy helper$) can provide distractions. You don’t want to think about eternity? The devil agrees – he doesn’t want you to consider it (he might lose you). Stop. Read your Bible. Take walks where you can speak to God AND hear from Him. God wants you to prepare to meet Him.     *(Heard this in h.s. – don’t know who deserves the credit.)

“…Ministers shall not give themselves to excess in drinking or ryott spending their time idelie by day or by night playinge about dice, cards, or any other unlawful game.”

– old Virginia Legislature

God allowed yours truly to sit under the ministry of H Robb French, Glen Griffith, S D Herron, L D Wilcox, J Wesley Adcock, C Ponder Frederick, V O Agan, H E Darnell, John F Dorsey, H L Ferguson, + +. I can’t imagine one of these men of God being concerned about “opening day” or the “final four.”
