Born surely suggests a beginning,

A beginning like all of man.

He came so we could stop sinning.

Birth was a part of God’s big plan.

He asked doctors in the temple,

Sitting/standing about in their “school,”

(Asking may not be that simple)

He gave answers which made them “drool.”

Disciples He chose, and taught then

Via the Sermon on the Mount.

Doing miracles He helped them

See beyond the lunch fish-count.

His teachings ran counter to the norm.

He taught one could live above sin;

Reality surpassed mere form.

But Jews wanted normal again.

A chosen Judas chose to place,

A betraying kiss upon His cheek.

Peter could not a mere maid face;

They all forsook Him – low and meek.

Jesus who was born then soon died;

Died on a cross of shameful wood.

But by death He our life supplied.

Birth, crucifying understood.

The Lord was born that man could know,

The full joy of sin all in the past.

His birth, dying, rising, all show,

The love of God will last and last!

This year thank God for His sole Son.

This year forsake the carnal mind.

This year believe the battle won.

Leave disobedience behind.  –eab, 11/24/07

He came before, as promised of old.

Christ came before as prophets had told.

He came, knowing He would be “sold”

But He came to break sin’s hold!

He’ll come again as a King, bold.

Christ will come from streets of gold.

He’ll come again His faithful to enfold.

Oh, be hot, my Friend, not warm or cold.

His coming may not your chart uphold.

Christ’s coming may not fit our small mold.

His return may not be (as thought) “two-fold”

But He comes Friend.  Be ready to behold.

Read the Book; make it your stronghold.

Do not this poor prophecy rhyme scold.

Reading helps to remove the blindfold.

Some charts border on the over-bold.  – eab, 3/17/08

Committed, He came from the realm of great grace.

Committed, descended, to earth’s meanest place.

Committed, He took on man’s body, man’s face.

Thank God for Christ’s birth, everyday.

Committed, returned from His temple-time talk.

Committed, returned to a carpenter’s “walk.”

Committed to “parent’s” control –  with no balk.

Thank God for Christ’s childhood and play.

Committed, selected twelve men from the crowd.

Committed He taught them to never be proud.

Committed, He raised more than one from the shroud.

Thank God for Christ’s teaching-time stay.

Committed, He would not redemption abort.

Committed, He silently stood in the court.

Committed – disciples reneged their support.

Thank God Christ held satan “at bay.”

Committed, He hung on a rough wooden frame.

Committed, redeemed one hung near Him, the same

Committed, died bearing earth’s sorrow and shame.

Thank God Christ freed all who obey.

Committed, He rose from His new-borrowed grave

Committed was He – now to death we’re no slave

Committed like Father, He too freely gave

 – Commit to Him Friend, while you may.  -eab, 11/26/07
