Every believer is HAPPY that Christ is called “Lord of lords, and King of kings” (Rev 17.14) and more emphatically “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Rev 19.16). These very Revelation Scriptures necessity other kings on earth in the coming Pure World.

And Revelation provides answers for that:

“And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:” Rev 2.26

“And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it” Rev 21.24

“And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it” Rev 21.26

“…the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations” Rev 22.2.

HOLD ON Saints, There’s a glorious future for the Faithful. Amen!

What Child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

William C Dix died this date 9/9/1898, at Cheddar, Somerset, England.  He wrote dozens of songs in addition to this – one being another “Christmas” song, “As with Gladness, Men of Old.”  Dix was born 6/14/1837 at Bristol, England.

“Look, Ye Saints!  The Sight Is Glorious”

Look, ye saints! the sight is glorious:
See the Man of Sorrows now;
From the fight returned victorious,
Every knee to Him shall bow;
Crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
Crowns become the Victor’s brow,
Crowns become the Victor’s brow.

Crown the Savior! angels, crown Him;
Rich the trophies Jesus brings;
In the seat of power enthrone Him,
While the vault of heaven rings;
Crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
Crown the Savior King of kings,
Crown the Savior King of kings.

Sinners in derision scorned Him,
Mocking thus the Savior’s claim;
Saints and angels crowd around Him,
Own His title, praise His name;
Crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
Spread abroad the Victor’s fame,
Spread abroad the Victor’s fame.

Hark, those bursts of acclamation!
Hark, those loud triumphant chords!
Jesus takes the highest station;
O what joy the sight affords!
Crown Him, crown Him,
Crown Him, crown Him,
King of kings and Lord of lords!
King of kings and Lord of lords!

Thomas Kelly was born this date 7/13/1769 at Dublin (County Queens) Ireland.

He was the son of an Irish judge, was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, looking to follow in his father’s profession.  He changed his mind, was ordained an Episcopal clergyman (1792).  His fervent, evangelical preaching brought him into disfavor with his archbishop, who prohibited him from further preaching.  Thus Kelly became a dissenter.  He is credited with 765 hymns.  Kelly passed away 5/14/1855.

“There’s More With Us”

 There’s more with us than be with them;

We’re on the winning side;

With banners unfurled,

We’ll tell the whole world,

That Jesus is Captain and Guide;

There’s naught to fear

When He is near,

Though fierce the conflict may be;

We’ll never give in

In the fight against sin;

With Christ there is victory.

There’s more with us than be with them;

Lord open our eyes to see;

The mountains around,

With chariots abound,

We’re trusting alone in Thee;

The devil may boast

And martial his host,

And march in the battle array;

With Christ in the lead

We are sure to succeed;

We’re certain to win the day.

There’s more with us than be with them;

God lives and He answers prayer;

Though numbers are few,

His promise is true,

No need for a fear or a care;

The critics may jeer,

And infidels sneer,

And sow dissension and doubt;

God’s truth shall endure,

Our foundation is sure;

There’s naught to worry about.

There’s more with us than be with them;

He’s promised to come again;

With signs appearing,

The time is nearing,

He’s coming to earth to reign;

When satan is bound,

The whole earth around,

We’ll crown Him King of kings;

The conflict will cease,

With His Kingdom of peace;

We’ll join the chorus and sing.  (Repeat verse one after verse four only)

H Robb French (author of this song) was married this date, 6/23/1919, to Geraldine Trusler. She was 26, he was 27. She wrote the music this and to another of his songs, “I Don’t Care What Church You Belong To.”

“Rise Up, O Men of God”

Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
To serve the King of kings.

Rise up, O men of God!
The kingdom tarries long.
Bring in the day of brotherhood
And end the night of wrong.

Rise up, O men of God!
The church for you doth wait,
Her strength unequal to her task;
Rise up and make her great!

Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where His feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man,
Rise up, O men of God!

William Pierson Merrill published this date (2/16/1911) his “Rise Up O Men of God” song.  Merrill was born 1/10/1867, Orange, NJ and died 6/19/1954, NYC.
