ON THIS DATE

On 10/28/1949 Jim Elliot placed in his journal words which would become his most famous quote;

“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”

Philip James “Jim” Elliot was born October 8, 1927 in Portland,OR.  He with four other missionaries were martyred on January 8, 1956 in Operation Auca trying to reach for Chirst a native people in Ecuador.
