Translation Trouble – Luk 11.2
AV “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.”
NIV He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.”
Why does the NIV remove “Our,”
such a personal pronoun?
Why does the NIV remove “Heaven”?
TWICE?
Does this relate to some man ON EARTH
being called “father”?
