USEFUL WASTE
The coconut came to land > My first song, Hobe Sound <
On the damp and even sand
Of an island in the ocean, in the east.
On its third side it set,
Its face all dark and wet,
Glad the ceaseless surging had ceased.
It had been long at sea,
Or at least it seemed to me,
That it might have come from a land afar,
Where the wind had forced it in
To the home of scale and fin;
And it blinked on the blue like a star
Till in due time and space
It was left as useful waste,
Settled by the sea, on the sand.
It was life in its beginning,
A palm in the making,
When the coconut came to join the land.

Love thy native land? Ah, that is natural. There is a normal love of country which a christian can have. But
“My country – right or wrong” may be called hyper-patriotism. A christian must avoid it – we’re citizens of the much higher & e-v-e-r-l-a-s-t-i-n-g Kingdom of Heaven. – 9/25/19
“I just don’t have enough faith
to believe in evolution.”
– R E Carroll, sermon, 2/11/1988
If God is holy (& He is), if God invites us to be like Him (& He does) then the believer-on-his-way-to-heaven is either sanctified, seeking to be sanctified, OR (if not one of these two) is possibly in confusion. (I beg you, Friend, obey all the light you have & get out of confusion.) – 9/27/19
1Pe 1.15
“But as he which hath called you is holy,
so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.”
“Madam Guyon tells of walking 7 yrs with no fresh manifestation of God…He may let us go thru a period of silence when we are not assured of His presence except thru His eternal Word…”

Allow me to throw out an idea. One or more readers may love English grammar. (If it always made “sense” to you & you got A’s you may not help my appeal – read on.) Are you a person who struggled with basic grammar concepts (or in-depth material) but through perseverance & prayer found a “handle,” found a format or formula, which really helped. If this is YOU & you love grammar now (but once did not) would you be willing to be post (once a day, every-other-day, or at least once a week) a tip on structure, or a definition, or an idea that revolutionized grammar for you? Please pray about this. -10/4/19
