If you have light you can see that ‘x’ is wrong. When light is missing you cannot make proper judgments of right from wrong. Come back. Beg God to bring you back to the light. A parent does not want His/her child to be hurt so warns or restricts them from certain activities. Is God less of a Parent than some human? Never! If He’s warning you today to stay away from a certain business, a certain school, a certain “friend” & yes, even a certain church or cult, PLEASE listen, O, please listen. God loves you & doesn’t want you to get hurt or even die spiritually. Obey Him. Obey what my Dad would have called, “The checks of the Spirit.”- 4/26/20

Church is a bit like a restaurant. The Pastor is the “cook” & serves up well prayed/well prepared meals or opens a “canned sermon.” The people create the “setting/atmosphere.” Folks will travel miles to eat with a view: mountain scene, beach, etc. though the meal may be so-so. Or people will drive a distance to taste the creations of a “cook” though the atmosphere is not great. The best is a combination of great “cooking” & friendly, praying people. Hope you have a good “restaurant.”

There was a past day when many of us heard, “Act your age.” Why is it that many now do not what to look their age? Medical attention is given to remove a wrinkle or two, color is placed on hair (beard/stash?) to look less aged, some may even try dressing like their kids? These do NOT stop aging!

When a church or school has revival, things change! There are New Priorities! Some new things become normal – some old things are banned. “Spring Revival” means little, unless there’s a change!

Rom 12.20

“…if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink:

for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”

 

 

New converts struggle separating sin from temptation. We will be tempted as long as we’re in our right mind, in this life. (Jesus was tempted, Heb 4.15.) Having a bad picture flash into mind is not sin – don’t dwell on it. Having a wicked word come to mind is not sin – don’t say it nor allow it to stay. If you used harmful substances a smell/sight may tempt but as long as you don’t yield you’ve not sinned. Sin involves your will. As long as you don’t agree with a pic, word, action you’ve not sinned!

A friend appears to be advancing in his secular job & he’d like you to rejoice with him. But you know (& others?) that when he was on a mountaintop spiritually (in the past) he testified of a call to preach or evangelize. His new position is the opposite of his call. A discerning soul cannot rejoice in such advancement. It may represent his enslavement to “the American dream”.
