Rom 8.7

“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:

for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”

True, sweet holiness preaching will make carnality uncomfortable, if not outright angry.

– eab, 6/4/18

“If you reject truth & won’t believe the truth what else [can] you believe but a lie?”

– V O Agan, sermon, 2/12/98

TAI – *Think. About. It.* I fully agree that little bunny are cute (if they’re not near my tender plants). I have nothing against a baby chick. And I like eggs, even colored ones, if-that’s-how-they-came-from-a-hen. It’s still many months before the world celebrates another “easter” so, may I suggest, as a Believer in Christ, you separate yourself from these heathen spring, fertility emblems? They’ve nothing to do with Christ but represent His “enemies.”

RIPENED FRUIT

To love when all of life *

Lies down a ne’er ending trail,

Is simple and safe, without strife,

Happily, they lift the veil.

It is more adventurous, however

As seasoned travelers to wend,

The experience path together,

Starting love’s journey over again.

It takes a certain inward spark,

A daring and demanding devotion.

(To face, this time not in the dark,)

Married life and its commotion.

Anyone can do something initially,

Poorly, mediocre, or superb.

It’s different to repeat it successfully –

To marry IS an action verb.

Young love is a blossomy suit,

Sweet and magnifying.

Mature love is a ripened fruit,

Full and more satisfying.

1Pe 2.11

“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims,

abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”

When we stand with the Bible, on issue after issue, the world thinks us “strange.” Don’t totally reject this word.  Both the writer of Hebrews (11.13) & Bro. Peter (1Pe 2.11) call us “strangers.”  Far better that this temporary world see us as “strange” than that the Eternal Heaven call us such.

“Scripture will not be understood nor sound doctrine valued & defended

as long as Self has not been denied, in surrender to the will of God.”

– Dave Hunt

JUNE. 1) I do not recall my 1st Junes but as I grew June became popular – it was part of my favorite trio of months, months without school.  2.) My pretty, Tennessee, teenage-bride & I said our “I do’s” in June. 3.) God gave us our sweet, dark-haired 1st daughter in June.  4.) In the many yrs of teaching I always loved June (oh, I also loved September when it came, but enjoyed school-being-out as much as any kid.)  5.) On the 5th of June (after God had directed me to retire Mar 5th) my dear wife had her stroke (2013).
