Translation Trouble – Act 2.1                                      

AV “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”

NIV “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.”

The impoverished NIV reader is not given the term “one accord.”

Webster says “accord” means “To bring into agreement.” “Together” physically, is not the same as “agreement” as anyone knows who has seen a home disagreement. Significant? Surely!
