Tit 2.12
“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness & worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously & godly, in this present world;”
“We are living in an age when people are strangling, smothering,
twisting, warping, & murdering their conscience.”
– U E Harding, “Watch! Watch!”
What happened to our schools? # 3
Second McGuffey Reader (3rd grade, Rev.,1920) had these Christian words:
Heaven, 2 times (pp. 34, 130)
Hymn, 2 times (pp. 122, 138) Example:
“Ever gentle, meek, and mild, Thou didst nurse thy fretful child.
Teach these little feet the road, Leading on to heaven and God.”
(Lesson LXI, “My Mother” – no author sited)
“The modernists across the country…tear up Bethlehem’s Manger…tear down Calvary’s Cross…take Christ out of God…& the inspiration out of the Bible.”
– U E Harding, “Watch! Watch!”
A BROTHER TAKEN *
Some hours ago the message came
A tiding rimmed in black.
Death has from our presence taken
Taken to never more give back
A brother (family – in Christ – is the same)
And we feel, (Shall I say it?) forsaken
Some hours ago the message came
A drear tiding “trimmed in black”
The scythe of death has laid another
Found our brother in its track
Slain him, laid him. He’ll not be back
Some hours ago the message came
The solemn message of the dead
These are always given and received with dread
Sad the duty to deliver, sadder yet to stand and take.
Someone else has gone in sleep, we are still awake.
Some hours ago the dreary tiding
Of death and distance, life and resistance
Came to sadden home and heart
Our brother has been taken, He did not awaken
Death has forced us apart.
Death that hideous, unwanted scourge
Smirk invader, undaunted persuader
Has plunged us into the dark
Stolen another husband, father, brother
Death is brazen, final, cold, stark.
But, Death listen! Listen
You have an empty shell. He is now well!
No more will sorrow or pain
Cause our brother sleepless nights
O’er trials, problems or slights
He’s triumphant–these are slain. * Steve D (Douglas) Herron d.2/25/94, dear brother, “educational father.” I have missed him!

Jude 1.18
“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time,
who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
You can have murder in your wicked heart but never pull a trigger. Some preacher may call you a non-practicing “murderer” & welcome you into his membership. You can have sodomy in your wicked heart but never do the sinful act. Some preacher may call you a non-practicing “gay” & welcome you into his membership. Jesus Christ can remove the hatred from your heart & unnatural lust as well. You can then Join Jesus’ Church. Praise the Lord.

“Till you press the believers to expect full salvation now you must not look for any revival.” – J. Wesley” quoted by M W Knapp, /Revival Kindlings/
Share God. Unlike human friendships, sharing God does not impinge on your time with Him. (Or, for that matter, their time with the Lord.) God can “spend” time with you, “spend” time with your friend, “spend” time with Joe or Jane across town (or across the continent) & none of you will be the least slighted or stay so long in His presence & try His patience. God is the most Unique Being possible. – eab, 2/24/19
“…So-called churches, that have become training schools for the theatre…”
