When quite young I was delighted to be
Three years by the salt, the salty old sea.
I’ve seen it calm, as “calm as a tea cup;”
And I’ve seen it white caped, frothing way up.
It had its own creatures living on shore,
Some walked on eight legs, some had only four,
Their colors and shapes, their flight, song, or cry
Where clear signs that the salt sea was nearby.
2.
Now, I’m nearing a vastly different sea,
Beyond whose shore, by His grace, I will be
Forever with Maker of both huge mains,
United with “earth’s” body – the “remains.”
This shore also has Creatures which delight
Winged Ones, some with six (only two for flight).
Yet unseen, what’s beyond pure Heaven’s shore
Thrills all saints – with the Lord, forevermore.
