Psa 139.23-24

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

“And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

You have a favorite uncle (for now let’s call him “Uncle S”). As a kid you loved his stories of adventure, exploring when young, admired him telling of fights he’d won. As you matured you loved him but also saw he wasn’t a 100% truthful, had bad habits, misused money. The day came you met Christ. Now “Uncle S” was seen in a new light. Loved him? More than ever – but now you saw what a bad guy he was & needed to change. Christians – don’t love “Uncle Sam” so much you approve of all the fights(wars) he’s been in or his money problems or… You can love America (I truly do) but not love war upon war. Pray for USA.

“Are you dressing to conceal or reveal.”

– Lincoln S. Bryan, conversation, 1/23/00

I feel sorry for youth whose church (local or denomination) is moving left. Ideals/activities your parents would’ve never do are being ignored (as supposedly neutral) or are actually encouraged. Youth – read your Bible, daily. Read it literally. Talk to Jesus as your best Friend. Open your heart to Him about all that is being allowed by youth/regular pastor. Not all new things are automatically sinful but time after time satan uses the new to detract from a close walk with the Lord. You don’t have to join the leftward drift.

PIANO

Something there is that loves a piano,

Tinkling in the tenor, booming in the bass,

Sliding with the thumbnail,

In its pink-on-white race.

Jam 4.14b

“For what is your life? It is even a vapor,

that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

*How to sucker tomatoes.* Imagine the main stem as an index finger (sticking straight up). See a leaf as a thumb going at an angle. Suckers start in the spot where finger & thumb meet. You don’t want them. When the sucker is small pinch it off with fingernails. If bigger suckers use a pair of sharp-nosed scissors being careful to not injure main stem or leaf. The small secondary stem (which has the blossom & later the tomato) doesn’t come off in the index finger/thumb crotch but a higher up on the main stem. Learned from f-n-l, the late Carson W Scarbrough. BTW sucker pepper plants & eggplants the same way for bigger fruit.
