# 1.) Let’s pretend. A youngish billionaire (who thinks you’ll live the next 40 yrs.) contacts you. He promises to give you 20 yrs. use of his credit card: fly where you want, vacation oft & long, dine “on his nickel” at choice eateries, spend weeks on a foreign beach or in a high country cabin, own the latest super car, buy the nicest clothes. Live it up. THEN, you have to work for him the next 20 yrs: anything he wants (as long as it’s “not illegal, immoral or fattening” to quote EAB II). You’ll work 14 hr days, 6 days per week. There will be no vacations, no holidays; you’ll only get to eat what little he decides, your liquids will be limited to water & not a lot of that. You’ll walk to work, walk home to sleep on a hard floor only to walk back to work, for 20 yrs. (Remember this is imagination.) Would you live high for 20 & slave for 20?

FAITHFUL TODAY
A few more bends of the blue river,
A few more curves in the sandy road,
A few more items to deliver,
A few more miles to carry the load.
And God will call us to be with Him,
Upward without feather, wing, or plane,
Where days aren’t even slightly dim,
And actions are always blessed and sane.
So be faithful to today’s tough task.
Work in the growing, gathering gloom.
Do diligently what Christ does ask.

# 2.) The devil is saying “live it up” “you owe it to yourself”. If you follow his lies you WILL have no choice but have your “best” yrs first. You have no guarantee of 20 yrs of pleasure & no promise of unlimited cash to do as you please. AND, if hell were 6 days of only 14 hrs with limited food & water it would sound wonderful to its inhabitants. Stop believing satan. Don’t go to hell. Jesus died for you.

The most important date in our lives is not our D.O.B. (date of birth) but our D.O.D. (date of death). That is the day we step into the presence of God Almighty. Friend, we either step in very grateful that His Son redeemed us by His precious Blood, or we step in knowing that we rejected the awesome gift of His sacrificial Blood.
